Sometimes your tasks seem really hard and you just don’t seem to be able to move forward. Every time you try, your attention seems to just roll off, or you just repeat the same cycle of thoughts.
One of the most effective ways to make progress is to bring in another person, because it’s very hard to procrastinate when you have a colleague or friend with you. Most people are shocked by how much progress can be made when you bring in a sounding board. Your partner need not know anything about your task, or have a lot of time. Just ask someone for a few minutes of their time so you can pass an idea by them. By the end of the 10-15 minutes that it will take to explain your block, you’ll find that you’ve ordered your thoughts and the next step to take is shockingly obvious. The burst of energy you will experience as a result of this breakthrough may well start a productivity chain reaction that lasts all day long.
